What's New: Good News!

Hello everyone!

Long time no hear. I am so excited about all that has been going on over in the land of space and silence. The first thing I want to talk about is a new partnership/project that I am working on in conjunction with Charis Books and More. If you are not familiar, Charis is the nation's oldest independently owned feminist book store, and is located less than a mile from my house in historic Little 5 points, Atlanta,. WHOA! That's a pretty big deal right? Well, a couple of months ago, I got the courage up to ask them to carry my book and they said yes! But the good news doesn't stop there. They also agreed to let me do a Tools of the Ego workshop series there. So, for the next four months, yours truly will guest lecturing at Charis on topics related to my new book, "empty.s p a c e: Where is My Stuff?"  Since this is the first time I will actually have a chance to talk with you guys since the book has been published, I am beyond excited to sit down, share, and answer any questions.



The talks will be roughly an hour and a half and are free to attend. Charis does ask that attendees provide a suggested donation of $5. The money will be used to support future programs. My request is that you purchase a copy of #empty.space prior to coming to the event. Throughout the lecture, I will likely reference concepts found only in the book and would like for you to be able to follow along. The book is for sale on my website, www.kenyajackson.com, under the SHOP NOW tab. My preference is that you purchase the book from the website, because the turnaround time is so much faster. (Plus it's cheaper on the website). Anyhoo, the dates, topics and titles of the three remaining talks are listed below. I hope to see you there and hope you will bring a friend.

The next piece of good news is that I am going to be featured in the October issue of Curve magazine. At first I thought the article was going to be a book review, but I have recently learned that it's actually a part of series they are doing on lesbians who are out and successful. I'll be honest, when I heard they selected me for this particular issue, I had to ask myself, "Am I successful?" Lol. I guess they thought so, so I am in (woohoo). As the date comes closer, I will make sure to keep everyone posted on how to purchase or download a copy.

Oh and tomorrow I have a big call with a major university in the city. If the call goes well, I will be starting a small college tour in the fall. I am really excited, but don't want to jinx anything..so I won't go into too much detail here. Just know that your girl is working her hind-parts off to get this silencebeseen movement to the masses. *Deep breath* Well, I think that's about it for now.
